Pet Photography Prep: 3 Tips to Get Your Pet Ready

Denver Photographer Monty Nuss Littleton, Colorado

Next to newborn photography, senior pictures and family portraits, pet photography is one of our favorite sessions. Ok, who are we kidding; we love any opportunity to get behind the lens. But a Denver pet photography session is definitely one that gets more “awww” than any other session. A few weeks ago, we posted our favorite tips to prepare you and your pet for your next pet photography session. This week, we’d like to give you a few more tips so your photos are even more “awww” worthy.

  • Tell us your pet’s quirks. Does your pup have a certain way of sitting that makes him look “exactly like a human?” Every pet has that special thing they do that makes them just irresistible. And who knows these quirks better than you? Before we begin your next Denver pet photography session, let us know what you want to capture on film!
  • Bring noisy toys! A good portion of the photo shoot will be spent getting your pet to look at the camera. How can you help us accomplish this? Bring the noise! If your pet has a favorite squeaky toy, be sure to have it on hand to help capture their attention.
  • Get ‘em groomed. If your favorite pooch is a big Sheepdog, they might need a bit of grooming before going on camera. Whether it’s a trim, bath and brushing or you just need to get rid of a few tangles, be sure to get them pretty before their big day. You want your pup to look their best and so do we!

At Monty Nuss Photography, each session has a special set of challenges and considerations. When it comes to our four-legged friends, a bit of patience and maybe a few toys are needed to get the best shots possible. With your help, we can capture your pet at their best in your next Denver pet photography session!
